Match report. 26th September 2021. Ladies XV away v's Westbury

Martin Hill

On a sunny Sunday morning some of Dorset’s most magnificent women left the safety of the county, Wiltshire bound for their first game of the season. SWANS Ladies found themselves hosted by Westbury Ladies in what has to said is the most scenic rugby venue I have ever been too.

Under the watchful gaze of the Westbury White Horse the match was played in the finest spirit of the sport, both teams competed hard and upheld the values of the game. Three debuts form SWANS, one of which earned herself forward of the match, Kelsey Gale had a fantastic game. Hayley Maslan had her first game too, thrown into the front row she did herself proud. Thank you Amber and Louisa for helping out, especially to Louisa for scoring that try. Kelly McCourt was awarded back of the match, a real achievement after a long self-imposed exile from the sport.

Every member of the squad needs to be impressed with the way they performed.

Congratulations to Westbury Ladies on your 27-5 victory, a well fought game. Look forward to hosting you and turning the score around next year.
